Weekly Activity Check for adults 50+
What it does
You tell us roughly what you did last week. We compare it with what U.S. and WHO guidelines advise: 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity, muscle-strengthening on 2 or more days, and, for adults 65 and over, balance work. Then we suggest one small place to start.
How to read the result
- One minute of vigorous activity is counted as about two minutes of moderate activity, as guidelines do.
- Guidelines state that some activity is better than none, and that any amount counts toward the week. Being below a number is a starting point, not a failure.
- If a health condition means you cannot reach these amounts, guidelines advise being as active as your abilities and conditions allow. Ask a clinician what that means for you.
- The result compares one week with general guidelines. It is not a fitness test, a health assessment, or a diagnosis.
